Ride Info

Rides

The Club schedules bike rides in the Jackson area during the riding season (March thru October more-or-less). (We don't intend to suggest that you stay off the roads or trails during the months when we don't schedule rides--you may very well see some of us out on the bike--it's just that you're on your own during those months.)

We try to schedule a range of rides to fit the needs of different people. There are short, moderately paced rides for beginners and faster tempo rides for more experience cyclists looking for a more challenging workout

Most of the rides on the schedule are road rides. (It's not that any of us are prejudiced against mountain bikers, it's just that, mountain bikers can be, well, you know, different.) Actually, from time to time, you probably will see some mountain bike rides on the schedule. If you are looking for someone to ride with, we can probably help out. Mountain bikers need to check our Trails page.

Time Trial-The Club offers a monthly ten-mile time trial open to anyone looking for a personal challenge or just wanting to measure the improvement in their own cycling skills. Check the monthly calendar for place and time.

Ride Calendar

To learn about scheduled rides, check out this month's calendar. The calendar is available on this website. We also distribute copies of the Calendar to local bike shops. (The bike shops are also a pretty good place to go for other bike info, including about rides or even this club. We'd say more, but we don't take paid advertising.) If you join the club, we mail it to you. (Check out the Membership page.) Ride times, locations, and ride classification are also posted on the Calendar. If you would like more information about scheduled rides, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Start Locations

Starting locations for rides are indicated on the Ride Calendar. For more details, see the Ride Locations page.

Ride Classifications

Rides are classified by difficulty, usually in terms of average speed, and distance. Ride classification is indicated for scheduled rides on the calendar. Below is how you might typically see rides rated. If you have questions, contact us and we can suggest a ride.
